Dear Shierlly, Thank you for the inquiry. There is only one bus from Hangzhou to Taiping, and it departs at 6:20 in the morning, the price is CNY112 per person. Depart from Hangzhou West Bus Terminal Station(杭州汽车西站), it takes about 4 hours to get to the Taiping Station. Hope this would help.

Hi - we would like to go to Xidi on our way from Tunxi to Tangkou ( we plan to stay in the Hot Spring area) before going up to the mountains. What is the best way to do this? Bus from Tunxi to Xidi - then Xidi to Tangkou by bus or taxi or private car?

Whitney Liao (Jan. 15, 2014) replied:
Hi Marites, my suggestion is take bus from Tunxi to Tangkou, stay in the Hot Spring area. After your tour for Huangshan, you can take tourist bus to Xidi Village.

Hi, I''m planning to visit during December too, and do I need to prepare shoes with spikes? My concern is would it be very slippery? And would the mountain be closed due to bad weather?

Asked by Rachel on Oct. 4, 2013

Michael Hu (Oct. 4, 2013) replied:
Hi Rachel,I don't think that you need to prepare shoes with spikes. Because there are many steps which are made of stones. It would be not comfortable. It's not slippery except for rainy and snowing days. Yes, the mountain would be closed due to very bad weather.

Dear Iuliana, Taiping already becomed a part of Huangshuan/Tunxi in 1987, it also called Huangshan district. If you mean the bus from Huangshan district to The Yellow Mountains, the latest bus leaves from Huangshan Express Bus Station at5:30PM. It costs CNY20 per person. Nancy
