Bus is not workable from Wuyuan or Huangshan to Guangzhou. You may consider train from Huangshan to Guangzhou. There is one train available per day and depart at 11:50pm, duration 19hrs. China Highlights offers train tickets booking and we are happy to help you.  Please note that the railway station doesn’t accept booking until 15 days before departure date. Please book on our web site when your date is approaching.

thx whitney! is it possible to pitch a tent on the summit? how do i get to huangshan scenic areas after alighting from the bus? im really confused about the bus trip.
Whitney Liao (Jul. 24, 2013) replied:
Hi Bon, yes, it is worth stay one night on the summit. Then you will get the chance to view the sunrise on the mountain. Besides, one day is not enough to cover the essence of the Huangshan, 2 days is quite good. You can hike most of the scenic spots of Huangshan, not all in 2 days, but it is quite enough.

We are taking a bus from Shanghai to Yellow Mountain next week and we have some questions: #1 after we arrive in Tongkou, do we need to spend our first night in the town and take another bus the next morning to the mountain? #2 Where else do you recommend to go visit after we come down from the Mountain? #3 How far from Tongkou to Tunxi by bus? Thank you!

Dear Ruedee, You could take a bus from Shanghai south bus station to Tangkou directly and Yellow Mountain is located at Tangkou. It takes about 6.5 hours. I suggest you take a bus in the morning, then you could have enough time to take a cable car to the scenic and stay one night on the mountain. After visiting Yellow Mountain, you could take a bus from Tangkou to Hongcun or Xidi village. These attractions are famous places for visiting. Please click this link to realize the details: Hongcun:http://www.chinahighlights.com/huangshan/attraction/hongcun-village.htm Xidi village: http://www.chinahighlights.com/huangshan/attraction/xidi-village.htm It takes about 1 hour from Tangkou to Tunxi, the bus is available about half an hour.

When best to visit, March or Dec? Any cable car going up in Dec? Is it too slippery in Dec?

Lussie Lu (May. 28, 2013) replied:
Dear Melanie, In March, the average temperature will be 5-15℃(41-59℉) , it usually rain, but not heavily. In December it will be 4-8℃(39-46℉), it will be snowy in the end of Dec., it will be cold. If you don't like cold weather, you could visit there in March. The cable car is available in December. If it will snow, it is slippery, anyhow you'd better wear a pair of skidproof shoes for visiting. In general, the best traveling time is Sep. and Oct. It will be cool and you could see the colorful sceneries, but there are many tourists during that time.
