We will arrive in Shanghai at 09:00 from U.K., and depart Shanghai at 18:00 to Australia. What I can do in Shanghai? Can we take a short tour?

ChinaHighlights (Jul. 7, 2010) replied:
Your time in Shanghai is quite short so we recommend that stay at the airport. It takes about 1 hour to clear custom and the round trip to the down town area is about 2 hours drive. We suggest our clients arrive at the airport 3 1/2 hours before an international flights departure. This would only leave about 1 1/2 hours to visit city. The short time available and expense in doing this would probably not make it worthwhile.

Hi Rachael, welcome to our website, I am Candy Wei, a travel advisor at China Highlights. April, May, September and October are the best months for travelling in China. April is the start of Spring, it would get warmer and warmer when you travel from the north to the south, the temperature is from 39 F to 69 F averagely with little rain. We usually wear coats, sweaters and trousers in April but it will be wise to check the weather 1-2 weeks before the tour starts. By the way, formal dresses should be prepared as there are welcome and farewell banquets available on the cruise ship. I guess it will be your first time to visit China, if you need a second trip or an add-on trip to see the rural China (Guilin or Yunnan province), just feel free to get back to us. We wish you a nice trip in China!

If it comes soon in this summer around Jul. or Aug, the temperature would be around 25℃-35℃(77℉-95℉), while these two monthes are also the raining season, please pack T-shirt, sunglass, sunoil, as well as umbrella. When you are on Yangtze Cruise, with a light jacket will be good. Karen
