What is the best way to take the Maglev train to Suzhou? We will be staying in Pudong. Thank you.

Lussie Lu (Feb. 21, 2013) replied:
Dear Karen, The Maglev runs from Pudong airport to Longyang road, and you could not take it to Suzhou. I suggest you take line 2 subway to Hongqiao railway station for taking a bullet train. It takes about half an hour from Shanghai to Suzhou and there are many trains every day. You could buy the train ticket on arrival.

Hi Julia, It is Christy from China Highlights, your travel advisor. I’m happy here to help you. You could go to the North Bus Station or South Bus Station in Suzhou to Liyang. The bus is available every day from 07:05am, every 1.5 hours a bus. Price for your reference is RMB50-60. Arrived Liyang Bus Station, you can call a taxi (RMB70-90) to Tianmu Lake Yushui Hot Spring Hotel(In Chinese:天目湖御水温泉度假酒店). Pleas show the Chinese to taxi driver since they do not understand English. Good luck!

Ahmad, you could take a day trip tour to visit Shanghai from Suanzhou with round way train ride (available every 30 minutes, duration of 25-35 minutes). Here I am happy to recommend the classical day trips at Shanghai. http://www.chinahighlights.com/shanghai/1-day-tour.htm Please well note the price on shown does not cover the railway station transfer at Shanghai (USD50 for one people one way). If you could confirm the date, would you please contact me 3 working days earlier? The tour guides are planning going home for Chinese New Year Festival! Karen (karen@chinahighlights.net)

I am thinking about doing a trip via Shanghai-Hangzhou-Suzhou on route to visit my son in the UK sometime in May. I will be travelling alone and do not speak Mandarin. I wish to visit Chinese gardens and parklands in China. I visited a friend in Hangzhou for a week last year and really enjoyed the gardens there. I will need to book into a hotel near Westlake (4 star) and similar in Shanghai and Suzhou. I think I would like to spend 4 days in Shanghai (close to main facilities), 5 days in Hangzhou and about 3 days in Suzhou. I need to travel from Brisbane -China-UK(London) then reurn to Brisbane, Australia. i want to stay in the UK for about 15 days. My question is: What is the best priced airline to travel on to do this, best way to travel via Shanghai/Hangzhou/Suzhou, cost of hotels, guides if necessary etc. would appreciate your reply to this. Guanqian Shopping Street? Are you serious? If you come to Suzhou you should visit the traditional gardens, the canals and one of the nearby water towns. Guanqian shopping street is just like any other shopping street in the world. Nothing special there. Trust me, I''m a foreigner living in Suzhou and Guanqian Shopping Street is not worth it.
