The Stroage locker may be not available at night time. So, you may need to bring the luggage with you to the hotel.
For Zhouzhuang hotel, the Yunhai Resort (Yunhai Dujiacun) is suggested. This hotel stands beside beautiful Baixian Lake. This hotel is one of the best choices for those who want to stay over night in Zhouzhuang.
Yunhai Resort is about 48km away from Kunshan train station. Yes, taxi is available from the the station to the resort.

I would like to hire a driver to take me from Shanghai to Zhouzhuang. I do not need a guide, but transport there and back so I can travel at times of my convenience. Any suggestions?

Hi Grace, I am in Suzhou now and would like to spend the day in Lu Zhi, then go directly to Zhou Zhuang to spend the night there. Could you please tell me:1) How can I get from Lu Zhi to Zhou Zhuang? is there a bus?2) If I enter Zhou Zhuang after 9:30pm, I hear that I could enter for free. But if I book a hotel to stay inside, would they ask for me to show prove of having bought ticket to enter the town?3) any recommendations for where to stay in Zhou Zhuang and whether I would need to make a reservation ahead of time?Thanks very much for your help! 1. There are tourism buses between Luzhi to Zhouzhuang. You could take the bus at the entrance of the Luzhi ancient town.
2. It''s suggested you purchase the entrance tickets to avoid the troubles.

How do I get from Shanghai to Yangzhou and Zhouzhuang? Is it possible to get to Yangzhou from Zhouzhuang? Or is Tongli nicer than Zhouzhunang?Does the express train from Shanghai to Beijing stops anywhere or is it direct?

Firstly, you can take a long distance bus to get to Yangzhou and Zhouzhuang. Moreover, Tongli is also a Chinese ancient town, which has its own characteristics and cultures that attracts lots of tourists every year. Zhouzhuang is more than a watertown, which also enjoys a long history and is one of Chinese ancient watertown. Last but not least, the express from Shanghai to Beijing isn't a non-stop train, which has many stops, such as Nanjing, Jinan and so on.

There is no direct bus from Wuxi to Zhouzhuang. You can take a bus at Wuxi bus station which is near Wuxi railway station to Suzhou bus station. Then take a bus to Zhouzhuagn. It takes about 2-3 hours in total.

How is weather at the end of year as I plan to go there this new year?

Based on the former date, in the end of the year, the temperature is about 5-10°C. It will be cold and you should take a down jacket. Suzhou is well-known for its ancient gardens. how to get to ZhouZhuang from People's Square, Shanghai?
is there direct train or bus?

This is Grace.
You may take the bus from Shanghai Bus Station. There are three buses each day to Zhouzhuang directly. They depart from Shanghai at 7am, 12pm and 4:50pm at a price of CNY21 per person. The bus travel takes about 1.5 hours.

If you want to go by bus, you can take a bus from any of the bus stations in Shanghai, and the ride takes about 2 hours.
If you want to go by train, you can first take a train to Kunshan (check train schedules: http://www.chinahighlights.com/china-trains/), then take Bus No.88 to the new station, and change to a direct bus to Zhouzhuang.
