There is a phrase in English,"He goes the extra mile". It means that an individual goes beyond what would be usual or satisfactory to help someone or a group. You certainly did that in all ways.

At times some people needed a bit more help than would be usual, you made it work and maintained a pleasant attitude. Your willingness to add the cultural aspects of life in China pleased me greatly. I was fascinated by your introduction to Chinese characters. I am pleased to have an idea that there is logic to at least the more simple ones. I have often wondered how in the world the language was composed.

I appreciated your sharing your experiences with the cultural recollection with us. I will never see a bamboo plant or painting again without thinking about you and the time that you spent with "the girls" these past two weeks. I will try at home to improve my skill using the book and your examples as my guide.

We have recently been on a tour of China which included your beautiful city of Guilin. Of the many stops and tours we had on our journey, my husband and I thought that Susan Li was one of the most outstanding guides we encountered. Her command of the English language was very good.
