Dear China Highlights,
I wanted to write and tell you how pleased I am with our recent trip to China. Our group of 8 had a wonderful time and found China to be fascinating, with extremely friendly people.
My contact person at China Highlights was Elaine Yang. We 1st communicated over 2 years ago, when I had a trip planned that we had to cancel due to SARS. I decided to rebook with Elaine because of her understanding and professionalism. Any questions and changes I had and made to our itinerary were handled quickly and to my satisfaction. She was also very helpful when one of our travelers left items behind in a hotel and was quick to help retrieve them. As you can see with the attached photo, I was very happy to have met Elaine while we were in Guilin!
Our tour arrangements were very satisfactory. The Guangzhou Hotel in Beijing was nice and convenient to Tienanmen Square & the Forbidden Palace. The Bell Tower's location cannot be beat. The Guilin Park in Guilin, Bamboo Grove in Suzhou & the Pacific Luck in Shanghai were also very nice.
One thing I wished I had looked into better were the flights into and out of Xi'an. We had a late flight coming in from Beijing and a very early flight leaving Xi'an. That left us only one full day to see the city, which we all thought was a bit hasty.I hope that, if possible, you would take that into consideration when booking future itineraries to that city.
On the other hand, we very much enjoyed the rice terraces of Longji. That was something Elaine had suggested and am glad we made the time to see the terraces. It was our favorite sight we saw, after the Great Wall hike.
Our guides were in each city were competent, with varying degrees of English fluency. Our favorite guide was Mr. Qi in Guilin. It is very apparent that he understands what travelers need, after 20 years of guiding.
Those are my thoughts right now. When I get my photos together, I will send over a link for your viewing. I would not hesitate to recommend your company to other travelers, or use your company again for future trips to China.
