Well, Karen, we both feel the organisation and management of China Highlights is excellent. The weeks of email contact and preparation with you before we left were really good-and very reassuring. Your prompt response to our queries was also excellent. It was SO wonderful to have your Tour Guides, with smiling faces, at each and every airport- and also the comfort when they took us right up to the Check In desk on departure, as we were in unknown territory with virtually no knowledge of the written or spoken language.
ALL your Tour Guides were highly intelligent, well educated, very caring, conscientious and flexible. The cars were great, as were all the drivers. Congratulations to them all. The drivers were SO patient and we never felt concerned about our safety in all the traffic and miles that we travelled.
We have to say, though, that Foster from Guilin really topped the list- he was just brilliant, and we felt we had a friend caring for us. We also feel that the Bravo Hotel in Guiline topped the best list too.
All the internal flights were good and comfortable and we enjoyed the train ride from Hangzhou to Suzou- although it was very, very difficult to get all our luggage up and down two large flights of steps to the railway platform in Hangzhou.
The weather was very kind to us, never cold, and we only had one day?ˉs rain in the whole 26 days -unfortunately that was when we went to the Three Gorges Dam.
The Kung-Fu show and the Acrobat Show were wonderful. And the dinner at the Qianmen Quanjude Restaurant very good indeed. The lunch in Shanghai in the large restaurant under the Pearl Tower was also excellent.
The hotels were all very nice. The location was not of high importance to us, as we were quite tired each evening, and by the time we had had a shower and a meal we were ready for bed.
The Suzhou Embroidery Research Institute of China in Suzhou was absolutely wonderful and quite unique. There was no pressure to buy, but we succumbed and bought a double sided picture of Herons, which is now displayed in our front window and looks beautiful.
