Dear Mr. Schneider: Morgen Mo of China Highlights Travel has inquired whether I would comment on our experience with them as a travel advisor to China. We (two of us) toured China 2-10 Jan 2006. We visited Beijing, Xi?ˉan and Guilin. Morgen sent a very interesting itinerary and was helpful in modification of the itinerary at our request. We attended a wedding in Hong Kong (Kowloon) prior to heading for Beijing. All travel arrangements (flights) were handled through Morgen. He made arrangements to have our airline tickets to Beijing at the hotel where we stayed in Kowloon. The tickets were there the day we checked in at the hotel. The airline tickets from Beijing to Xi?ˉan, Xi?ˉan to Guilin, and Guilin to Hong Kong, were handed to us by our tour guides at the end of each city tour. The tour guides were very conscientious. It was very cold in Beijing. My friend lost her gloves one day, and our tour guide, Nancy Wang, handed both of us gloves and a scarf for her when she met us at the hotel the next morning. She also kept an eye out on the weather report and revised the itinerary accordingly. It did not rain or snow while we were in Beijing, but there was a day of high winds, which Nancy was aware of, and she made changes in the itinerary as to where to tour on that day. She also added on a couple of places and deleted some places which we decided not to visit. The bottom line was that she was very flexible, extremely conscientious of our welfare and comfort, knowledgeable of Chinese and Beijing history, had a good command of English, very pleasant and easy to talk to. The same can be said for the tour guides in Xi?ˉan (David Liu) and Guilin (Chen Yi Zhong). We highly recommend these guides. Morgen and China Highlights did a great job of making the arrangements. I showed our itinerary to friends who had expressed some disappointment in their earlier tours to China and they were impressed with the itinerary. Hope your visit to China is as wonderful as ours.
