Karen,
The trip is over and I want to thank you for your part in making our trip successful and delightful. We loved Guilin and Cliff (our Guide) and you were right, the night in Yangshou was a plus. Cliff was going to try to locate you by your Chinese name. He heard "Karen said" so many times that he wanted to meet you.

One suggestion, the third floor without a lift (Paradise Hotel) is not the best choice for over 70's people. Actually we would have been fine except I injured my foot in Guilin and was hobbling around.

The room was beautiful and we enjoyed the hotel. We also loved the night cruise in Guilin, your (and Cliff's) suggestions. On to Beijing - what an exciting city. Zoe was our Guide and an excellent one, as was Cliff. We did the city tour the first day as it was very windy and Zoe thought it was too windy for the Wall. It was so windy that day that we walked into the entrance of the Summer Palace grounds and went back to the car. The Beijing Prime Hotel was an excellent hotel and we were very pleased with it.

The weather at the Wall was perfect the 2nd day. Unfortunately, I could only hobble one short section, but Leo did a little more and Zoe went with me to shop for souvenirs. I have a pair of "Ying and Yan" earrings as a result!

Zoe really came through when on the way back to the ship, we came upon an accident which had both lanes of traffic closed. It was a tracker-trailer on it's side and Zoe got them to move the crane that was attempting to upright it to move and let us drive through!

Thank you,

Georga Windsor
