Now that we have rested and recovered mostly from the jet lag, I thought I would send a brief email thanking you for putting together a wonderful trip for us. I especially appreciate the care that China Highlights puts into the organization of the individual tours and the monitoring of their clients satisfaction during the tour. All the tour guides were very helpful and worked hard to please us.

I especially enjoyed the journey through the ethnic minority area of Guizhou and Guangxi providences. Though at times the traveling on the rough roads was quite wearing, it was an amazing and beautiful area, relatively untouched by tourism. I valued the opportunity to walk through remote villages and rice terraces and observe everyday life without the numerous souvenir shops that lined the streets in such places as Dali and Lijiang, though I enjoyed those areas as well but for different reasons. Driving for days through the sculptured landscape with sinuous rice terraces continuing up all the high mountains as far as the eye could see was truly incredible. I especially liked the chance to walk with the farmers and their water buffalo along these terraces high in the mountains and looking out over the extensive terraces. The opportunity to spend the night in Zhaoxing and explore this lovely town for several hours was one of the high points of our trip. I hope more extensive tourism does not find this interesting town. The rice wine ceremony as we entered the Qingman village was also an unexpected treat.

Again, thank you for organizing our trip and I would highly recommend you and China Highlights to anyone considering traveling through Guizhou and Guangxi providences or to anyone wanting customized individual tours.
