Thank you for your email and I am pleased to tell you that Ray and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent trip to China. We found that you, and China Highlights, looked after us so well, we did appreciate that you kept in touch with us during our trip and that you made the time to come and meet us whilst we were in Guilin.
My daughter is having a baby in 2 weeks and with other family commitments, we have been extremely busy since returning from our trip to China so I apologise for not contacting you sooner. I have responded to most of your questions.
The history in Nanjing and The Li River cruise is very nice and memorable. Besides, The Huangshan area & the Yellow Mountain experience; even though it poured with rain and there was heavy mist so we couldn’t see the mountains.
Ann Zhang in Suzhou – very knowledgeable, obliging, out of her way to assist us and is a very nice person.
Jason in Guilin – a close second. All drivers provided a safe and comfortable experience but some were friendlier than others - eg smiled and greeted you when you got into their vehicles.
Guilin Bravo was the best – convenient position, good service, genuine ‘non smoking’ room and the best of the breakfasts (for a Westerner).
The Beihai Hotel Huangshan had the hardest beds I have ever slept on and food choices was limited (for Westerners) but we do know that the remote location of the hotel was the reason for this.
Definitely, we find China Highlights very professional and our 2 trips with your company have been organised extremely well and we travel with confidence that we will be looked after very well and we only have to make a call to Delia if there is anything we are concerned about, no matter how small, and she will deal with it.
The mobile was convenient if we needed to contact Delia or our guide. I suggest that, if possible, clear the mobile of the previous users usage and contact information and insert the names and contact numbers of that particular user’s China Highlights agent, their guides and their hotel at each destination prior to giving it to them. Also provided them with printed instructions on how to use the phone – especially how to call or text in China and how to call or text their specific ‘home’ country.
The welcome kit is really good – the initial welcome kit given to us on our arrival was excellent. With the kits provided at each destination, you need to ensure that you guides are given a very clear understanding of exactly what is to be included as they were all different, some gave us a whole pack of wipes, then one did not give us any wipes at all and another gave us a single wipe each.
