Dear Elaine,
Answers to your questions:
Sight:So many of the attractions were just wonderful that it is really hard for me to choose one. I think it would be safe to say that the ones that were most memorable were those with a lot of history, such as the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Great Wall, entombed warriors, Xian city wall the Grand Mosque and Muslim Quarters of Xi'an, Ciqikou Old Town in Chongqing and the Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai. These are all equally impressive and memorable. We really enjoyed the bike ride on Xian city wall.
GuideAll of our guides were incredibly helpful, knew their history and treated us as very special people. We got on very well with all of them and developed an instant rapport. I guess if we have to identify the most outstanding it was probably Jay, our guide in Beijing. She was very helpful and supportive and even climbed a section of the Great Wall (at Rob's insistence) that most sensible people would consider a foolish task. You are to be congratulated on your choice of guides-we simply had the best time with them.
Hotels and meals: The hotels were great and so were the meals. It would have been nice to have been offered a choice at the Bell Tower hotel in relation to a room with a view. That hotel has by far the best location and it would have been nice to know that we could have paid a little extra for a better quality room with a view. The Anting villa was just perfect. The meals arranged by your guides were all excellent. We had so much to eat and so much variety, I could not suggest any improvements.
Without doubt your company provides an outstanding service.
