Yesterday we arrived back home in Amsterdam and now is a good time to provide you and your organisation with feedback regarding the trip you organised. Overall we are very pleased: we have seen a lot and by and large, the various parts of the trip were well organized. We certainly can recommend you and your organization to anyone interested in similar trips.
The outstanding quality was, however, the support that we had from our guide Tony in Beijing. As you know, my wife had a nasty fall on the stairs leading to the cable car station at Mutianyu. She suffers from osteoporosis and has had a broken spine in the past. The pain and shock was such that she couldn’t move for a while. A visit to a nearby hospital seemed difficult and the only realistic option seemed to be going back to Beijing for support. We descended to the station in the valley and guided her very cautiously to the car. Meanwhile, Tony had purchased a potent painkiller and we started to trip back to the Capital. The painkiller did wonders and my wife realized that it was unlikely that any hard tissue (bones) had been broken or cracked. In Beijing, Tony directed us to a pharmacy. The pharmacist looked at the emerging haematoma on her back and concluded that a treatment with an Yunnan Baiyao aerosol/ Shangke Dieda Pian combination, which Tony purchased, together with the phenacetin painkiller would be called for. She is still in pain but it is now clear that time will heal. Tony was very concerned and his response to the whole situation was very professional and supportive. Highest regards.
Finally, could you please forward a copy of this e-mail to Tony with the attached photo’s. Tony: Tanneke is doing well and gives her best regards. We are very grateful for your support and enjoyed our days with you in Beijing a lot. We hope everything is going well for you.
With best regards,
The four of us certainly had a great time in China, because the tour was well organized! Tickets were all there, guides were always on time, friendly and helpful and knew their business and we saw all the highlights we wanted to see. It was also worthwhile to see the silk and pearl (work)shops, the cloisonn factory and fun to do the Hutong tour.
Pity we could not have the boat ride in the Summer Palace in Beijing!
Although the hotel in Beijing was a little less than in the one in Shanghai we were very satisfied with its location so close to the Square and the Forbidden City. It saved time and there were wonderful restaurants near by. We enjoyed a very good meal in the HotPot!
We have no complaints and we will absolutely recommend China Highlights to everyone who likes to see the big cities of China.
I would also like to thank you personally, Nora. Our communication about this trip and your handling of my questions and requests has from the very start been pleasant and efficient. I could always trust you for an immediate answer and your information was always sufficient. This has made all the difference!
So, thank you again for everything, Nora! We have to say goodbye to you now, but we keep the good memories!
P.S.: This e-mail is also intended for your supervisor.
