To the Management,
I wanted to write a special note to the attention of Crystal Wong's manager to let you know what an excellent tour guide Crystal is!
Crystal guided Patrick Tai and myself around Guilin for three days last week. From the moment she met us at the airport, she was cheerful, enthusiastic, and personable. She took great care of us, anticipating what we would need and making sure we were always comfortable and informed of what would happen next so we could plan. She has that special quality of really making you feel that she cares about you and your welfare, so that I felt like a member of the family, a guest to her home, and never just a customer.
On the arrangements, which were many, whether to Folded Brocade Hill, the caves, the Longji rice fields, the Li River cruise, Yangshou, Crystal was knowledgeable and informative. She told us about the history and most important points of every site. She communicated with us very well. In fact, her communication skills are excellent. She listens carefully, picks up on nuances, and focuses on what you are interested in, rather than just reading a script. Most importantly, she engaged us in a continuous conversation, filled with many questions and answers. She appeared genuinely interested in everything we talked about.
I hope this reference letter is helpful. We liked Crystal a lot as a person. She is a warm, intelligent and and caring young woman. Anyone who is lucky enough to have Crystal as their tour guide in Guilin will have a wonderful time in your wonderful city!
Please feel free to contact me if I can provide any further information.
Steve and I are back home now, safe and sound; but I think our minds are still constantly thinking of our China trip.
It was wonderful. Thank you Candy for selecting the tour sites, the hotels and especially the tour-guides, who are all marvelous.
I hope you recover from your sickness.
Please give my regards to Tom, April, Charlie, Lee and Crystal; I miss them already.
Here are the photos I took during the tour of Huangshan with you.
Steve and I really had to great time.
You are so knowledgeable, efficient and lively; you made our tour so much more enjoyable.
The solar-powered flash lights you gave us came in good use in the later parts of the tour (caves in Hangzhou).
Thank you so much.
Dear China Highlights:
My college roommate Steve Simon and I went on a 16 days tour of China in September with China Highlights. The trip was an eye-opener; and jaw-dropper in many ways for me. I was born in Hong Kong, but I've never been to China. Thus thanks to China Highlights，I got to know my native country like I never did before;
The emphasis of our tour was scenery, that was why we chose to visit Huangshan and Guilin. The Huangshan part of the trip was, for me, the most memorable part of all. The views from the mountains was just breath-taking. The almost vertical granite rocks, the Bonsai-like pine trees sticking out of them evoked images in Chinese paintings. How the rocks appeared and vanished with the drift of the clouds was almost mystical.
But what made the Huangshan trip so wonderful was our guide April Yao. She was enthusiastic and her smile infectious. She was knowledgeable about the history, geography, and even the geology and biology of the locations we visited. She was amazingly effective in helping us around the activities as well as in the hotels and restaurants. She seemed to know everybody and got things done so easily. On the peaks, sometimes she 'imagined' for us images that were hidden in the clouds when suddenly the clouds dispersed and the very images appeared! It was mystical. She brought us to the 'Old Town' to eat dinner on the Autumn Moon Festival day; where we saw the full moon in its glory. In short, she was marvelous, and the trip would not be the same without her.
