Here comes the feedback on our recent China tour.
I have taken two other China tours with China Highlights in this same year with two other friends, for this trip, the most memorable is the scenery in the Guillin area. Although the Great Wall of China always thrills me.
Our guide Lele in Guillin is our favorite guide, he is agreeable, bright, enthusiastic and attentive. We had good drivers and none did anything I'd consider risky. They were polite and attentive.
As for hotels, Xian Skytel had the most comfortable beds and good breakfasts. But, the hotels in Guillin and Yangshuo were comfortable, friendly and very nice. I'd rate all three as very good. However, my favorite this trip was The Bund Hotel in Shanghai. The room was excellent, the location was great and the food was good. After not liking the hotel we had in Shanghai during my May trips, this was a great improvement.
I loved visiting Lele's friend, a lady who is a widow and lives in a traditional home. She seems eager to be welcoming and friendly and we get the chance to see a traditional farm/village home. There are many aspects similar to farm life in parts of America...and many differences. But, her warmth and kindness made the visit special.
Tips for future tourists visiting China in mid-October---Bring good shoes and expect to walk a lot. You do not need dressy clothing. Have layers because days can begin feeling cold and end up quite hot.
If you ask me whether I will recommend China Highlights to my friends, my answer would be --Of course! I have brought three friends on trips with you already. I'm a very happy customer.
My name is Sara Moore, and this is my friend Sue Legg. We are half way through a wonderful China Highlights tour, and it is my third China Highlights tour. Every single aspect of the trip has been great fun. I booked on line, with no problems, and every detail was taken care of. And I recommend that you try it too.
The tour guides are very helpful in every way, and each one meets you at the airport and keeps you secure and safe as you are traveling through and attend to every need that you have. So it has been a very enjoyable trip.
I have been a happy customer of China Highlights since my first tour in early May of 2011. A great part of that happiness is due to Candy Wei who planned all three of my tours. She has listened carefully to what I wanted to see and has made great suggestions to add a greater depth of discovery.
I had three different friends who each wanted to see some of the same places, but I really didn't feel like I was doing the same things over and over again because Candy planned each trip with the information I gave her about each individual. I felt comfortable immediately because she asked good questions and then used the information to add special experiences for each of us.
I added a stop in Guillin to my most recent trip. Wow, what a gorgeous area! This has proved to be the most interesting stop yet. But, the most special part was having dinner with Candy, meeting her sister, and feeling quite comfortable. In fact, I was having dinner with a friend.
You're fortunate to have such a charming, smart and professional employee in Candy.
I have lived in Asia in the past, but now my husband is working in Weifang, so I am sure there will be more China Highlights trips in my future. Whenever I come to China to visit him, I hope to spend part of the time traveling and I know exactly who to contact to make those plans for me.
