Simpson recommended the Sichuan opera and so we decided to head there on the first night, the show was great, a fantastic mix of music, dance and some comedy too. And the tea was lovely!

What was/were the most memorable attraction(s) on the itinerary?

Definitely the pandas! We passed through some beautiful countryside on the way to the sanctuary and really enjoyed our day spent wandering round.

What impressed you most during your free time and why? (e.g. a morning walk or a night market)

We really enjoyed the meal we had at a restaurant near the hotel. Simpson was incredibly helpful and helped us to pre-order our food, which made things very easy when we returned later that evening on our own.

Did you try any of the restaurants, shows or markets listed on the Confirmation Letter? How were they?

Simpson recommended the Sichuan opera and so we decided to head there on the first night, the show was great, a fantastic mix of music, dance and some comedy too. And the tea was lovely!

Did our guide give you any further information or recommendations? If you made use of this, what effect did it have on your experience?

Simpson recommended a restaurant near our hotel, unfortunately they were closed as the next day was a public holiday (4 Apr), but he helped us to find another restaurant very near by and as mentioned above, was incredibly helpful in placing our order in advance so we didn't have any difficulty when we returned on our own.

Was there anything on you tour (big or small) that made you go “WOW!”?

The panda kindergarten definitely had the wow factor, I could have spent all day watching them play around.

Was Chengdu the same as what you imagined before visiting? What were the biggest differences between Chengdu and your nearest city?

Chengdu was a much bigger city than I expected (although all the cities I visited in China were bigger than I expected!) and by the sounds of all the building plans, it is going to get a lot bigger. But everyone was friendly and we enjoyed our time there. It was nice to escape all the traffic and the busy streets when we visited the parks and Du Fu thatched cottage. Would you recommend our company to your friends?

Yes, everything was very well organised, Simpson was brilliant and the places we visited were lovely.
