The gardens in Suzhou were awesome and I would love to see them again in different seasons. The guide had lots of awesome stories for each place and there were lots of very nice photo opportunities. My Dad's only complaint was that they were a bit similar to each other and if I remember correctly, getting to the gardens very early seemed the best option as even in the down season they got a bit busy.
Datong was amazing! We got stared at a little as much fewer tourists make their way that far. But the grottoes were brilliant! I really cant express how impressed I was. Some of the statues were enormous and it doesnt matter if the place gets busy as it has lots of big, open spaces. The Hanging Monastry was amazing and scary. If you're afraid of heights it may give you some trouble as there is very little between you and the open air. The nine dragon screen was a smaller attraction but I still really liked it.
Dennis, feel free to email me again in the future with any further requests. My Dad and I had a wonderful trip. My dad gets very stressed so having everything so perfectly planned was the only reason he was able to enjoy the trip. Please find attached a couple of photos, I hope their size doesn't give you any problems.
