Dear Ms Wang,
Thank you for the wonderful arrangements in Beijing just!
Both my wife and I have had a wonderful time with Henry and the good itinerary he had furnished during my trip juts last week except for the very bad and cold weather we experienced on our last sector back to Hong Kong! In fact, we were just back only this morning after having to stay inside the aircraft since 6.30 pm last evening.
Mutianyu Great Wall was the most memorable attraction during our Beijing trip. Our China Highlights tour guide was Henry Wang for both days (Dec 29-31, 2009). He is a young gentleman who knows his job well, ambitious, flexible and shown initiation. Henry was calm when the car broke down after our lunch near by YuanmingYuan on Dec. 31 and guided us to a taxi. We continued our journey to the Ethnic Costume Museum. Henry's choice of recommendation to a local restaurant was good. We liked the food and his information about Beijing cuisine. He even showed us how to wrap Beijing dumpling by using paper. As per the WOW factor to our tours, nothing in particular but enjoyed listening to the information given by Henry Wang.
Days Inn Forbidden City is at a convenient location. Meals arranged at a restaurant near Mutianyu were all right. As per travel tips, local food in some typically local restaurants can be simple yet provide the wholesome experience & the insight of Chinese culture. There are more to explore and learn about China & Chinese people through food. Smaller museums are interesting. We enjoyed our visits to MeiLanFang & Ethnic Clothing museums. Visitors to Beijing should not miss out seeing YuanmingYuan ruins besides the splendor of the new Summer Palace. There is so much history behind YMY.
We would love to recommend you to our friends. And we welcome China Highlights customers to contact us but please inform us in advance.
Thank you. We are looking at the possibility to visit Guizhou some time in 2010 - to see the Miao Ethnic people. I had sent you an email asking for information and whether the trip could be done over one weekend.
Happy New Year to you all.
Alex and on behalf of Isabelle too!
