The many sites we saw were all quite special - Li river show, countryside visit with the local family, Reed Flute cave, 1000 Buddha cave at Fubo Hill. Aside from the attractions, the personalized service and flexibility with the itinerary were great. Reed Flute cave was quite amazing, especially the reflection pool.
The flexibility with the itinerary and scheduling were also great. And the base itinerary and the new sites we added to the itinerary on the fly (silk and pearl factories) became the best itinerary for us. Our tour guide Lily, she was very helpful across the board - be it with the itinerary, with holding our bags/shopping, accommodating our requests, being flexible with the itinerary, making us feel welcome and so on. She was really great overall. Our driver was also very pleasant, and was always on time. The hotels were up to standard. Green Lotus was especially nice.
The meals were also very good. Comparatively, the one meal that wasn't as good was the meal on the Li River cruise, however it does not mean that the food was bad. We do appreciate their efforts to accommodate our request for no pork dishes. We also go shopping at the silk and pearl factories. We also bought some things at the flea market after the Li River cruise. I'd suggest more time be allotted to this flea market since there are a lot of nice, local finds there. I think the items we had on our itinerary could become a base itinerary for anyone traveling to Guilin.
