Testimonials from Switzerland

Dear Candy,

It's now a week since we are back home from our China trip. And at the end we can tell you that everything went smooth, we stayed healthy during all the time in China and we didn't have to change our itinerary at all. All reservations have been done according to our wishes and the tickets were ready at the time needed. Let me go through your questionnaire in short:

The Most memorable attractions: Li River Cruise / Yangtse River Cruise ,Terracotta Army in Xi'an and Shanghai. We only had a tour guide for transfers in Chongqing and Yichang. All went perfectly well.

Hotel and Meals: All hotel arrangements we have done by ourselves. We were happy that we stayed in hotels like Sheraton, Novotel and Four Points by Sheraton. We know the chinese food and we like it. But we had to learn that the local chinese food is sometimes a bit strange for non-chinese. The food on President 2 was prepared also for western taste and we enjoyed it. ...more

Dear Karen
China travel, TestimonialJust wanted to thank you again for your super organization and the chance to meet you in person.  Michael did a great job for us and we enjoyed our visit to Guilin and Yangshuo.  FYI -- when I filled in the evaluation form, I only used the 5 score to show the best of the trip.  Overall, the trip was excellent and I hope that the ratings are not misunderstood.

I'll come back to you on the arrangements for Chengdu.

Have a great week and take care,

Butch

Dear Karen,
I very much enjoyed Zhangjiajie. I had seen pictures of this National Park 3-4 years ago when visiting a fair for tourism in Zurich and the CNTO (Chinese National Tourist Office) had a booth with brochures on different places to visit. I was very impressed by the beauty of Western Hunan province and Zhangjiajie and the park itself was quite spectacular. The only thing that probably wasn't perfect was the weather as it's the rainy season, but we were lucky to have 3 days that were dry but somewhat cloudy.

I guess living in China, I also appreciate the chance to experience the local culture. My son and I walked through the city and only saw 2 Western visitors the whole time we were there. I guess the only outside folks that have discovered Zhangjiajie are the Koreans as there were many signs in Chinese and Korean. The tough part is that English is not very widely spoken. I'm trying to improve my Chinese and enjoyed the chance to try my limited ability in the restaurants -- very ...more

Dear Sunny,
Please apologize for not answering earlier but I had to go through all the workload in the office first. Holiday is over - unfortunately!

First of all we had a great time in China thanks to your fantastic organisation. We really enjoyed every single minute and will certainly come back to see more of China.

Now to answer your questions:

The best thing is hard to say-I think the best thing is that we have choosen CHT to arrange our trip. As we are very experienced independent travellers (we were backpackers for many years also in China in 1989) and don't like to be a member of a tour group it was very important to us to get some time for us. We just love to walk in the streets and take part of the daily life wherever in the world we are. One reason why we have choosen CHT is that for each destination you get a new guide. Like that we had the chance to get know different people from different ages and hear different opinions. Talking to our different guides and ...more

Dear Cheryl,
Thank you for your enquiry. As stated in our evaluation response, we appreciated very much your efficiency in organising the tour, the tour itself which covered interesting aspects of the area we visited and Alex's friendly, courteous and informative guiding.

Just a comment regarding when we came to Hong Kong. There is no need to go to the expense of taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel as the airport express train runs a very fast and inexpensive trip to Kowloon station (and other stations) and links with free transfer busses to major hotels. On return to the airport check-in can be done at the train station which made for a smooth departure.

We will certainly consider using China Highlights for a future trip to China.

Regards - Keith and Elizabeth Clark.
