I enjoyed the carvings at Baoding Shan most, but the increased peace we experienced at Bei Shan due to the setting and fewer tourists was also a wonderful experience. The forest there was so green and a Buddhist ceremony being conducted in the forest that we could hear but not see made it feel very spiritual and special. My husband enjoyed the carvings at Bei Shan equally as well.Since we were staying in Chongqing for a number of days our guide gave us useful information that helped us understand our stay better. She was very eager to share her views of life in Chongqing. It was very interesting to hear her experience.
How could you not go 'WOW' over the Dazu stone carvings? To think how long ago they were carved, how long it took, the craftsmenship, the beauty and intricacy...the devotion of the people, all in a natural setting. It is wondrous! Chonqing was a little different from what I imagined. It is hard to accurately imagine a culture that is so different from your own. You must experience it to understand. It is completely different from our nearest city: the people, the culture, the food, the buildings, the shops...everything. Without hesitation we will recommend our company to your family/friends/colleagues.
