China Tourism Art Joy Festival

China Tourism Art Joy Festival aims to carrying forward the national spirit and revitalizing the folk art. It consists chiefly of folk art performances from every provincial city as well as those from foreign folk art groups.
A great number of excellent folk programs have stand out, such as Yingge dance from Chao County, Shalong dance from Xinhui, Yu dance from Zhanjiang, Wugong dance from Shantou and Huolong from Fengshun, all of which have greatly enriched the scene of arts in Guangdong. They are filled with strong artistic appeal and thought and have attracted the attention of thousands of people. During China Tourism Art Joy Festival, many an activity concerning trade, tourism, arts and crafts is arranged, including dragon-lion dancing, stilted walking, Canton Opera and Canton songs.
Canton Opera is deeply rooted in Guangdong People with a history of over 300 years, which is very popular in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hong Kong, Macau and Southeast Asian Countries, and it’s a perfect combination of Canton folk songs, dragon-boat songs and wooden knocker songs. As a part of Canton opera, Canton song is sung by singers in Guangzhou dialects, which sounds beautiful and melodious in a local style. China Tourism Art Joy Festival has been held in Guangzhou Tianhe Sports Center since 1998.
