Hebei Province is located in the North China, and it has a monsoon climate of medium latitudes. The salient four features of Henan weather are: chilly winter with rare snow, hot summer with plentiful rainfall, sunny autumn with comfortable weather and short spring with blowing sand. The average temperature for a year is about 14 °C (57 °F), January is the coldest month with the average temperature is -1 °C (30 °F), and that of the hottest July is about 24 °C (75 °F).
The best time to visit Hebei Province is depended on which tourist definition one chose. Know as the ‘Pearl of North China’, Baiyangdian Lake in Baoding, the largest freshwater lake in North China, will show beautiful scenery to every visitor with lotus blossoming every where on the lake in summer. Every year during July and August, the Bashang Grassland in the north of Beijing reaches its most beautiful period with blue sky, white cloud, colorful wild flowers and unique yurts. Because of the big difference in temperature and unexpected thunderstorm, visitors need to bring warm clothes and rain-proof when visiting the Bashang Grassland.
