Emeishan city, named after the famous Emeishan Mountain (Mount Emei), is a county-level city under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Leshan in southeastern Sichuan Province in southwestern China. Mount Emei is one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China, and was inscribed onto the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996.
