First opened in 1961 and renovated in 2006, the Dongfang Hotel is situated in the heart of downtown Guangzhou. It stands between Liuhua Lake and Yuexiu Hill, conveniently close to the Chinese Import and Export Commodities Fair and Jinhan Exhibition Center. The hotel is 34 kilometers from Baiyun International Airport.

I realy like this hotel and I will be back next time I went to Guangzhou. The rooms have nice touches and housekeeping is efficient. For muslim people, there are two muslim trusted resturants, Lebanies Resturant and AlF Layla Wa Layla Resturant and they are 10 minutes only from the hotel.

This is second time we were staying in this hotel. We love this hotel. It's very convenient to get some shopping done. Room is big and comfortable. Very professional staff.

The hotel is an oasis in busy Guangzhou however the food is very expensive, also only 1 restaurant on 8th floor was open for dinner and they closed at 9:30pm. Pool Bar was not open during the day. Pool is nice and tidy but has hotel rooms on all 4 sides so you only get sun in the middle of the day.
