Opened in 1999 and refurbished in 2011, Central Hotel Shanghai is conveniently located in downtown Shanghai shopping and business district and adjacent to the Century Square on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall and the Bund. It is 5km away from the Shanghai Railway Station, 15km away from the Hongqiao Airport and 45km away from the Pudong Airport.

Stayed in an executive room for 3 days for my business trip. Liked the room layout, appreciated the modern furnishings, wired internet, and desk for working. Executive booking includes free drinks and wifi and shoe polish and late check-out and healthclub and much more. Small bar downstairs is great for quick drink in evenings too. You can use the 5 star sister hotel next door too which is equally luxurious.

The hotel is centrally located between the People's Park and The Bund. The rooms are a good size although the corner rooms are a bit of wasted space and the result is an odd shaped room. There are all amenities in the room including free WIFI and complementary water. The hotel service at the front desk is excellent and the staff helpful. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The hotel is almost on the mall where there are lots of restaurants. Will definitely stay there again.

The location is the best thing, and the rooms are nicely designed. A little noisy with the music from the plaza and the traffic, but not a big deal. Nice breakfast spread! superb restaurant. Worth the dine irrespective of whether you're staying at the hotel. Most of all the cuisine is typically of Shanghai, affordable and delicious. Service was excellent, staff attest to not serving any MSG, menu and ordering is electronic complete with pictures of each dish, and staff descriptions.
