Opened in 2007, the JIA Shanghai is one of the JIA boutique hotels located at the City Center of Shanghai, adjacent to the Jingan Temple. The guest rooms and lobby of this hotel are designed by famous Australian designers. It is 4km away from the Shanghai Railway Station, 30km to the Hongqiao Airport and 60km to the Pudong Airport.
The JIA Shanghai offers a total of 55 guest rooms, including single room and suite, etc. All rooms are provided IDD/DDD phone and free broadband internet access and other amenities. As for dining service, there are western restaurant and bar in the hotel and meal delivery service is available.

This mini hotel is fantastic! Feel like home..as JIA means "home" in chinese language! The room is big, the bathroom very modern, excelent design, you have a small very modern and very well equiped kichen(which we didn't use). Very stylish and different then any other hotel! The hotel also has a great location on West Nanjing Road, right on top of the subway station. Wifi worked well throughout the hotel and was included. I would definitely stay there again.

The Jia is a small boutique hotel right in the bustling city center. It is well designed, quite "funky" or "cool", certainly. That's why we chose it. But I am quite sensetive to noise, and there was a lot of noise outside, which started early. Nanjing Road is just outside, the cars there honk their horns a lot, which disturbed me. My only other gripe is that some of the things are designed to look good but not be functional. However, that's a minor thing and I don't want to be picky.

JIA is a design-led hotel. JIA means "home" in Mandarin and that's what they want you to feel - at home. The atmosphere is casual and guests seem to be returning, which is also a good sign. This is a low level hotel with only 5 storeys.We had booked into a corner suite.As it is a low level hotel,even with a balcony there is not much view from here. Rooms are rather spacious no matter what category you had booked into.The corner suite is very very comfortable,spacious with a big hall and big bedroom that is attached with an equally nice bathroom.Interior is charming like an artist studio.Overall the room is quite good. However the set breakfast that comes along with the room offer, left much to be desired.Quantity and choice of food is rather too limited,so if one intends to take a heavy breakfast you would be disappointed. Location of hotel is really great, been few minutes walk to Nanjing west road station.As such Nanjing west road is one of the prime shopping street with many mid to high end malls/shops and many restaurants nearby. Service at hotel is average and it should be improved.
