Pudong New District, called Pudong for short, is a newly developed district of Shanghai, the largest city of mainland China. The word Pudong means the Huangpu River east bank. The transportation of Pudong Areais very convenient. Shanghai Metro lines 2, 4, 7, 8 and 9 connect Pudong area with the historic city center of Shanghai, Puxi Area. Subway Line 6 links northern Pudong with the southern. Shanghai Maglev trains travel between western Pudong (Longyang Road) to eastern Pudong (Pudong International Airport), which can reach up to 431 km/hr (268 mph) during the journey.

Lujiazui Trades and Finance Center, located at the eastern bank of Huangpu River looking out to the Bund, is a new financial hub of China. The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel, Shanghai Metro lines 2 and 4 link Lujiazui with the Bund, the historic financial district of Shanghai.
