Railway
Jiaxing is one station in the near middle of Shanghai - Hangzhou railway line, with a distance of 90 kilometers from Shanghai and Hangzhou. There are trains accessing to major cities at home such as Nanchang, Xiamen, Huaihua, Nanning, Fuzhou, Hengyang, Guangzhou, Wuchang, Chongqing, Liuzhou, Kunming, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Yiwu, Lanxi, Quzhou, Wenzhou, Shanghai, Wuxi, Changzhou, Nanjing, Hefei, Fuyang, Huaibei , Jinan, Beijing, Baotou, Jilin, Qiqihar and other cities (Public Information Tel :0573-82072205).
Highway
Several key traffic lines like the Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway, National Highway 320 and Shanghai-Hangzhou double-track Expressway run across the land. The world's longest cross-sea bridge, Hangzhou Bay Bridge, with a total length of 36 kilometers, links Cixi Ningbo to Haiyan Jiaxing. Since its completion in May 1, 2008, the three cities, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo, have formed a golden traffic triangle, within which only one hour is needed to reach everywhere. The toll for crossing the bridge is 80 yuan.
There are two main bus stations, West Bus Station and North Bus Station, in Jiaxing urban area, which No. 20 buses connect. The West Bus Station is located in Yuexiu South, Zhongshan West Road. There are No.3 buses available to the railway station. The North Bus Station is situated in Central North Hexing Road junction, from which No. 22 buses are available to the railway station.
Taxi
The main taxies in Jiaxing are in the mode of Santana, with a starting fare 5 yuan (2 km) and fuel surcharges 1 yuan. Because of the small size of Jiaxing City, 5-10 yuan is enough to travel through the train station, bus station, South Lake and the city center.
Public Transportation
Most of public transportation vehicles in Jiaxing city are air-conditioned buses. No ticket sales. A single fare is 2 yuan and the frequency interval is 5-10 minutes. Most buses stop their operation at 18 o'clock or so.
