Lanzhou attractions are mainly gathered along the Yellow River. Waterwheel Garden, with its traditional lamb-skin coracles, and the Yellow River Mother Sculpture are on its banks; Zhongshan Iron Bridge was the first bridge across China’s mother river in this region; and Five Springs Mountain and White Pagoda Mountain both overlook the Yellow River.
Outside the capital of Gansu Province are Buddhist grottoes cut out of steep cliffs. There are only seven attractions listed here, but there is plenty of interest for a day or two. See our Lanzhou tours for ways to combine the sights and other destinations in China.
