Ping'an Village

Ping'an Village

Ping'an Village is the core tourist village of the Longji Terraced Fields. It is the biggest settlement in the tourist zone, and the home of Zhuang people, who still retain their costumes and customs. It is a beautiful village surrounded with terraced fields and mountain forests.

Buildings are traditional three-floor wooden structures, the typical building of Northern Guangxi. Though there are a few star-rated hotels, most of the inns are this kind of simple wooden buildings. During heavy rain, often power failure means some of the simple inns are unable to ensure power for the whole building.

The two main scenic spots are "Seven Stars Around the Moon" and "Nine Dragons and Five Tigers".

We strongly recommend you that stay one night there, enjoy the sunrise, and then take a hike to Dazhai Village.

How to Get to Ping'an Village

Take a bus from Qintan Bus Station (琴潭汽车站, about 3km west from Guilin Railway Station) to Longji Terrence Fields>. It takes about 2 hours. And then walk (about 30 minutes) or take a mini bus to Ping'an.

Best time to go: May and October. In May, it is irrigation time, and the fields are filled with water. You can see great scenesof fields looking like glittering and translucent crystal. And October is the harvest season, when the golden rice ripples in the fields.
