Chinese Hill, also called Bukit China, is named after Zhenghe who is a famous navigator in Ming Dynasty. It is located in the suburb of Malacca city. There is a story about it concerning a Chinese princess and a magic well. It is said in the 60s of 15 century, the governor of Malacca was Sudan Mans, a young and smart king. One day, a Chinese ship arrived at Malacca and many gold needles were carried. The captain sent Sudan a letter, saying that each needle stood for a Chinese and power of China was too large to be counted just as the countless gold needles. Then Sudan sent a ship carrying several bags of grains and a letter, reading that once you figure out the exact number of the grains, you’ll know the exact number of my people and my power as well.
