Mid-Autumn Festival
Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhong Qiu Jie), also known as the Moon Festival, has been celebrated in China since the 14th century. Because the Asian calendar is based on the lunar calendar, the autumn falls during the seventh, eighth and ninth month of the lunar year when many people still consider it to be summer.
The festival is an occasion for family reunions and festivities. On the night of the festival, family members get together to share sweet moon Cakes? shaped like a full moon, and watch the moon while thinking about their family, friends, beloveds, and people far away, because before the phone was invented and the Internet became popular, it was believed that the miss was conveyed by the moon that they can all see. This year, the date of the festival is on September 11.
