Asia's first Angry Bird Theme Park will officially open in October 2013 in Yanguan Town, Haining City, Zhejiang Province. The trial operation of the park is expected to start in late August or early September. The announcement was made by the city government and Finland-based Rovio Entertainment (developers of the popular Angry Bird computer games and characters) on June 26, 2013.

Facilities: The Angry Bird Theme Park, with a total investment of 20 million yuan (US$3.25 million), will include Birds’ Castle, Sutu Interactive Square, Parkour Zone, a 4D cinema and other recreational areas. All facilities are based on those in Finland.

The entry price has not been finalized yet, but it is estimated at 60 yuan per person.

Yanguan in Haining City, Zhejiang Province, about a two-hour ride from Shanghai and a 40-minute ride from Hangzhou, is regarded as the best place to watch the Qiantang River Tidal Bore. The annual International Qiantang River Tidal Bore Watching Festival is held in Yanguan on the 18th day of the eighth lunar month (September or early October), attracting numerous domestic and foreign visitors.
