The high-speed railway running between Beijing and Guangzhou will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2012. Train tickets from December 26 to December 31 start to sell at 10 o’clock, December 20th.

After the opening of this high-speed railway, travel time from Beijing to Guangzhou will be reduced from more than 20 hours to only eight hours. There are three pairs of high-speed trains running between Beijing and Guangzhou every day. The earliest train departs from Shenzhen North Railway Station at 8:30am, running through Guangzhou, and arrives at Beijing. The ticket price for a first-class seat is 1,383yuan, and price for a second-class seat range is 865yuan.

This railway links and passes through Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, and Changsha. Passengers will be able to take trains from Beijing to Xi'an and Wuhan in four and a half hours.  It will offer a considerable convenience for passengers traveling between the north and the south of China.

With the development of China's railway, more and more high-speed railways will be built to provide fast and convenient transport for passengers traveling around China. Travelers can book train tickets in five ways, up to 12 days in advance: online, by telephone, auto ticket selling machine, railway station ticket selling window, and local train ticket office.
