Audio tours to be used in major attractions in Beijing before 2008 Olympics
According to the Beijing Tourism Bureau, more than 60 major tour attractions including Summer Palace, Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven in the city will install audio tours before 2008 Olympic Games.
8,000 multilingual audio tours have been set up in the city's 35 main tourist areas and more will be added to cover Beijing's major 60 tourist attractions before next year's Olympic Games. The Forbidden City along will have 10,000 audio tours over 44 languages.
Audio tour is very helpful for navigating tourist attractions but the current high rent has prevented wide use of that equipment among travelers. Officials from Beijing Tourism Bureau said they would try to lower the lease fee.
