First Tunnel Under Yangtze River
Workers inside the No.1 tunnel of the Wuhan-Yangtze River Highway Tunnel on March 20, 2007. Construction of the Wuhan-Yangtze River Highway Tunnel has been acceleratted. The tunnel lies between the Wuhan-Yangtze River Bridge and the second Yangtze River Bridge in Wuhan and will be the first to cross the Yangtze River. The tunnel is 3,630 meters long and will be open to traffic by the end of 2008.
