Great Wall of the sixth dynasty of ancient China has been found recently in Zhangbei County, Zhangjiajie City of Hunan Province. With Great walls of different dynasties combined together, Great Wall of Zhangbei County is very special among all the Great Walls in other counties of China. As the study of Great Wall in Zhangbei is going deeper, the puzzles of Great Wall might be solved.

The heritage of Great Wall in Zhangbei County is characterized by multi-dynasties and it is accepted by the researchers that there are Great Walls of five dynasties (Zhao Dynasty, Qin Dynasty, Han Dynasty, North Wei Dynasty and Ming Dynasty) of ancient China. Besides, the Great wall found recently in Yehu Hill of Zhangbei County does not belong to these five dynasties, making Zhangbei County become a rare place possessing Great Walls of six dynasties. The experts have studied a lot about the period of the newly-found Great Wall in Yehu Hill: Mr. Cheng Dalin thinks it was reconstructed and rehabilitated during Yongzheng Reign of Qing Dynasty; Mr. Li Wenlong from Hebei University believes it is the Great Wall of the Northern Qi Dynasty that has been found recently; Hu Ming, an expert studying the Great Wall in Zhangbei considers the newly-found Great Wall to be a stretching of the Great Wall in Yan Dynasty. The study about the newly-found Great Wall is still under verification.

The time-honored historical Great Walls in Zhangbei County originated from Warring States Period of Qin Dynasty of ancient China and belong to at least 6 dynasties. Since Zhangbei County is located in the junctions where many Great Walls are joined together, the study of Great Walls in Zhangbei County plays an important role in figuring out the general trend of the Great Walls in Shanxi, Liaoning, Neimenggu and Gansu Province.

To make a better study of Great Wall of the sixth dynasty, professional group has been formed to explore the Great Wall of Zhangbei County and report to the culture relics department of China. As a result, Great Wall of the sixth dynasty in Zhangbei County has been identified. Meanwhile, the study about whether "Wuqiong Door" ("Wuqiong" in Chinese means "endless".) is in Zhangbei County is now under way as well. In addition, the forum themed by "Great Walls of Zhangbei County" will be organized in July.

Wuqiong Door
Wuqiong Door is located in Zhangbei County and is the most important passage from prairie area to the inland. And "Wuqiong" and "Wuqiong Door" which are respectively referred in Intrigues of the Warring States and Historical Records are related to the Batou District of Zhangbei County. King Wu Lingwang of Zhao in the Warring States Period ordered his army to wear close-fitting clothes like the minority groups and learn to ride horses and shoot arrows, thus narrowed the gaps between minorities and Han nationality and mixed the two different kinds of cultures together. Owing to its unique military status, many nationalities built Great Walls here for fighting to develop or defend the frontiers of their own. Therefore, Great Walls of six dynasties came into being and Zhangbei has become a place for solving the puzzles of Great Wall.
