Hainan Duty-free Limits to Increase

The policy against duty-free shopping in Hainan Province will be relieved since November 1st, 2012.

The new alterations of this policy are:

  1. Target group: older than 16 years old
  2. Cosmetics, healthcare equipments, cutlery and kitchen supplies, toys (including stroller) are added to the duty-free-item list (which will expand to 21 items, not include the prohibited and 20 kinds of non-tax relief goods, like knives, fireworks and guns).
  3. The amount of duty-free shopping will increase from 5,000 yuan to 8,000 yuan per person.
