Beijing Steps up Hygienic Surveillance to tourist during 2008 Olympics
To serve the success of 2008 Olympics in Beijing, recently, health bureaus of Beijing, Tianjin and five other provinces including Hebei province, Liaoning province, Ji'ning province and Inner Mongolia municipality are building a mechanism to jointly defense and control some serious infectious diseases. The mechanism aims to corporately defend the happen or prevailing of infections and make epidemic situation under control.
Jing Dapeng, the director general of Beijing health bureau, said that from now on serious infectious diseases such as pest, cholera, highly pathogenic bird flu and SARS will be under strict supervision. In order to keep such epidemics away from Beijing before and after 2008 Olympics, epidemic situation shall inform in advance and measures shall than be started to make sense.
During Olympic period, tourists into Beijing are asked to have hygienic surveillance before entry of the city. To make sure everything is in its good condition during the Olympics, all disease control departments in Beijing are requested to cooperate closely with other departments, such as railroad department, traffic department, quarantine department and aviation airlines.
Traffic hygienic quarantine shall be enhanced to against the prevalence of infections such as Ebola haemorrhagic fever (EBHF), yellow fever, and dengue. When having hygienic surveillance, once some unconventionality happens record shall be made. If one is found to be suffering from a fever or diarrhea during his entry the country, examination and confirmation about infectious diseases shall be made timely.
