Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway Is Open June 29, 2011

Beijing high-speed railway, linking Beijing and Shanghai, will commence operation at 3pm, June 30. The 1,318km (819 miles) route passes through China’s three municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai) and four provinces (Hebei, Shandong, Anhui, and Jiangsu). There will be two kinds of trains (called CRH380 EMU): one reached a speed of 300km/h and the length of time for the whole journey is 5 hours. The other reaches a speed of 250km/h and the journey takes 8 hours.

Fuel Surcharges Rose for the Fourth Time February 11, 2014

Many Chinese airlines, including Sichuan Airline, Juneyao Airline, China Eastern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, China Southern Airlines, and Air China etc, have raised fuel surcharges on domestic flights since May 26, 2011 due to the rising of oil price. This is the fourth rise of Chinese domestic fuel surcharges.

The Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway will start trial runs tomorrow, May 11, 2011. The railway will be open to traffic at the end of June. When it opens, it will only take about 5 hours directly from Beijing to Shanghai.
