Three Gorges changed after the water storage of the Dam

The Three Gorges Area used to be famous for the precarious landscapes there. However, after the water storage of the Three Gorges Dam Project, the water level in the area has reached 156 m, with quite a large part of landscapes there there having been submerged under water. Today's Three Gorges Area looks less precarious but even more attractive.

In fact, the height of the mountains in the area is between 1,000 m and 1,500 m. That is to say, the mountainous landscapes in the area will not be affected by the rising water, but tourists will not be able to enjoy drifting over the rapids there, with the rising water level covering the shoal patches scattered in the river. Instead, they can travel by large boats, whereby they will be able to enjoy the riverine scene with more sufficient time. The rising water level also enables travelers to visit "the Stream of the Goddess" by motor boat now. In the past, not many people could see its beauty as it would be a too dangerous trip.

Any visitor to the "old" Three Gorges Area will surely be stunned by the radical changes here. For example, the Baidi Ancient City is now surrounded by water, and quite a lot of natural landscapes have already been submerged.

It can be estimated that even the changed landscapes will attract more travelers from both home and abroad.
