Weekend Excursion to Yangshuo Longmen Water Cave

On Saturday 16 April, 21 of our CHT team visited Yangshuo Longmen Water Cave for our weekend break. After one hour's drive, we arrived at Yangshuo, an ancient town with a more than a 1,000 year history. After checking in at our hotel in the town, we rented our bikes and cycled through the countryside for about 40 mins to our destination, Longmen Water Cave.  It was s a rainy day, but nothing could stop us as we were well-prepared with our wet weather gear.  When we reached the Water Cave ticket office, it was nearly lunch time. We had our lunch with a local family, took a rest and then took another bus to Longmen village (15 mins), where the Water Cave is located.  And the tour began:

   After a 3 hour excursion, we biked back to Yangshuo town and had our dinner at a local restaurant- Beer Fish ?one of the most famous dishes in this area.  It? really delicious and well-worth a try, but maybe a little spicy for some of the westerners!

   After dinner and a little relaxation, our nightlife began.  Yangshuo West Street is full of little bars.  We chose one and sat there, talking, drinking till the midnight hour.

Finally, we reach the end of the cave. There is a great waterfall behind us and a big pool in front us. But you won't see it unless you come yourself. The whole tour takes about 3 hours.
