Travel Adventures from the CHT staff
Aileen and Gina are just back from their three-week trip. Every staff member at CHT takes an “educational” in China at least once a year. Their travels included many of the most requested and famous spots in China. Starting from Guilin, they spent a few days exploring Beijing and then flew on to Xi’an for one of the trip’s highlights, viewing the Terracotta warriors. Then it was off to Chongqing and on to Victoria Katherine for a relaxing cruise along the Yangtze. After visiting the 3 Gorges dam site they moved on to Shanghai, where they had a ball. After exploring the gardens and waterways of the beautiful towns of Suzhou and Hangzhou, (with a little shopping on the side!) they finally came home again to Guilin. They brought back lots of stories about the sights, sounds and great food as well as as many gifts and beautiful photos.

Aileen: “For many times I have traveled around those places, but each time it brings me new feeling and inspiration. How can’t I say I don’t love this country?”
Gina: “This trip was incredible. It’s really hard to describe the sheer scale of everything, from the formality of the north to the exuberance of Shanghai, the beauty of the Yangtze and the intimacy of the Suzhou canals. The historical buildings were magnificent, the landscape was absorbing, and the whole experience was just mind boggling. I felt welcome wherever I went, always safe, and as for the food …. Wow! Things are happening in China, it’s fun to visit, and totally fascinating”
