CITS Guilin educational trip
CITS Guilin has recently arranged an educational outing to Bama in west Guangxi province. The aim of the event is to expose the staff to famous revolutionary sites so as to help them learn more of the China's recent revolutionary history in a somber historical ambience.
They visited the Baimao Cave, a palatial subterranean river filled with of stalactites of all shapes and sizes and Guangxi Peasantry Revolution Institute which was set up by pioneering young revolutionaries to educate the farmers around with revolutionary theory during the World War 2. They also visited the Donglan Martyr Mausoleum and the Aidong Primary School.
All the members in the group were very happy to make a donation to the Aidong Primary School during the visit. The donated materials including books, stationery, bags reflected the compassion our staff had towards the disadvantageous kids in this poor area. Children were very excited as they received the contributions.
A side trip was taken to the Longevity Villages in Bama County on the Panyang River Valley. This area is well known for the number of the centenarians who live here. Although there is no known reason to explain long life in the region but one convincing argument could be the pure surroundings. The region has definitely not been attracted by modernization and locals have formed a unique lifestyle of their own, which is quite different from that of their city cousins.
