Relaxed Weekend in Butterfly Valley

Half day and one night in Butterfly Valley in Guilin Suburb

From the foot of the mountain, one can hear the birds singing and feel the river flowing. There are wooden houses built in the hills. They are the houses of local Yao people, one ethnic group in China. A middle age native Yao woman served as our tour guide. She is very familiar with the roads and every corners of the small village.

It is a small village that is made up of connected wooden houses, every house being connected to others. The house can be divided into two parts. The upper part is for human living  and the lower part is used for animal keeping.

People live a simple life there. In the morning, one can see the fog arising from the mountain clad every house in the village. The smoke from the chimney indicates that Yao people were making their breakfast.

Away from the city, there are not any noises in the village except the sounds of bird singing and river flowing. the vista outside your room window is just like a landscape painting.
