15th Heilongjiang International Ski Festival from Dec. 12, 2012

The 15th Heilongjiang International Ski Festival is ready to welcome its guests from all around the world on December 12th, 2012, in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province.

A series of activities themed at promoting snow tourism and Sino-Russian cultural tourism, including the grand opening ceremony and the Ice and Snow Sino-Russian Cultural Carnival, will be held in Yabuli Ski Resort and other places in Harbin.

A season of activities sloganed "Beautiful Heilongjiang, New Ice and Snow Travel" is now being celebrated throughout Heilongjiang Province, from the end of October 2012 to next April. Four theme months have been named:

  • Early Winter Warming-Up Skiing Month
  • Midwinter Fever Skiing Month
  • Spring Festival Golden Skiing Month
  • Spring Vivid Skiing Month

Winter in Heilongjiang Province is a great time for skiing enthusiasts and travelers to embrace nature, the snow activities there, and the Chinese and Russian cultural collision.

Rich snowfall is definitely a blessing to Harbin, and it has triggered a boom in tourism for 15 years. Known as the "Pioneer of Ski Tourism" in China, Harbin was honored as host of the 24th World University Games in 2009.
