International Confucius Culture Festival 2009 to be held on September 26

International Confucius Culture Festival will be held in Qufu of Shandong Province on September, 26. The Confuicius Temple in Qufu is the venue for this festival, which is to commemorate Confucius, the renowned Chinese ideologist and educator, and the founder of the Confucian school of social philosophy that stresses morality both at the individual and public levels.

There are some highlights on this session of Confucius Culture Festival.

1. A dance drama "Confucius" designed by Qufu people will be performed for the first time.
2. Fan Zeng, a famous Calligraphist in China will be invited to write elegiac address for Confucius.
3. A group of ten thousand people are to recite peoms together.
4. An upsurge of learning Confucianism will be provocated on the internet, some online actities are to be put on, such as "A dialogue with Confucius" and "Confucius Class".
5. Besides, three prizes, namely Prize of Confucius Education, Prize of Confucius Tourism and Prize of Confucius Culture will be presented to people who have made great achievements in disseminating the philosophy of Confucianism.
