Caexpo opens in Nanning

China-ASEAN Expo (Caexpo) opened on the 19^th this month in Nanning,the capital city of southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. To celebrate this great occasion, the Green City of Nanning was full of colorful buntings, flags and balloons with boundless joy.

 

Some 2,000 companies from China, ASEAN member nations, and other countries are attracted to the city for the event.

 

The Caexpo is an annual event staged in last year. In 2004, the Chinese government designated Nanning as the venue for the Caexpo. The event aims to promote economical, cultural cooperation between china and ASEAN countries and provide tremendous opportunities for the business communities from all over the world, striving for mutual benefits and common prosperity. Tourism cooperation is one important focus of the Caexpo. Tourism exchange will be highlighted, including introductions to tourist spots over china and the ASEAN countries, exhibitions of tourist goods, and invitation to tourist development projects.

 

One innovation of this year's Caexpo is the "City of Charm" setup which is a significant cultural cooperation, emphasizing "tourist hotspots" of China's Beijing, Thailand's Chiang Mai, Vietnam's Hanoi, Land Prabang of Laos, Indonesia's Jakarta, Cebu of Philippines, Mandalay of Myanmar, Malaysia's Putrajaya, Singapore City and Siem Reap of Cambodia.

 

In conjunction with the Caexpo’s opening, the world famous Nanning International Folk Songs & Arts Festival will also be held, which will enrich the Expo, making it a great event.
